The proposals for a law to establish zero tolerance for alcohol consumption by young drivers, apprentices and people without a driver's license will be brought to the Plenary Session of the Parliament within the next two weeks.

The issue was discussed on Thursday at the session of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, after it was postponed by a decision of the Plenary on December 11, 2025.

The Chairman of the Transport Committee and MP of DIPA, Alekos Tryfonidis, stressed that the zero-alcohol bills are extremely important, as they directly concern young people and serious traffic accidents with fatal results.

As he said, after an internal dialogue in the Committee, the issues will be put before the Plenary again in about 15 days for final decisions to be made.
