76.5% of young people aged 16 to 24 in Cyprus used generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in 2025, significantly higher than the European Union average, according to data published by Eurostat.
According to the data, the European average stood at 63.8%, which ranks Cyprus among the member states with the highest penetration of generative artificial intelligence in younger age groups.
As Eurostat reports, at EU level, young people are integrating AI into many areas of their daily lives. More specifically, for private use, 44.2% of young people used AI tools, while for educational purposes the percentage reaches 39.3%, as opposed to only 9.4% in the general population. Occupational use remains relatively limited (15.8%), as many young people have not yet entered the labour market, as Eurostat notes.
Among EU countries, the highest proportions of young people using AI tools were recorded in Greece (83.5%), Estonia (82.8%) and Czechia (78.5%), while the lowest rates occur in Romania (44.1%), Italy (47.2%) and Poland (49.3%).
