Neapolis University Pafos is organizing from 25 to 27 February 2026 the EMERGE Hub Open Days, a three-day event dedicated to getting to know the EMERGE Alliance and shaping an open framework for dialogue between the university and society.

EMERGE is a European University Alliance of nine universities from eight countries, within the framework of the European Union's "European Universities" initiative. The Alliance focuses on empowering Europe's peripheral and social regions through cooperation in education, research and active engagement with local communities.

The key pillars of EMERGE include social inclusion and solidarity, sustainability and resilience, linguistic and cultural diversity, mobility, and the creation of flexible academic pathways that meet the needs of regions.

In this context, the EMERGE Hub of Neapolis University Pafos operates as a space for open participation and co-creation. It is not a passive information space, but a dynamic meeting point for students, academics, local bodies, professionals and citizens, with the aim of formulating joint initiatives and linking the European strategy with the needs of Paphos and Cyprus.

During the three days, there will be presentations, interactive actions, workshops, co-creation activities, information on mobility and internships, as well as cultural events that enhance dialogue and participation.

In a statement, the Rector of Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Pantelis Sklias, said:

"Our participation in the EMERGE Alliance substantially enhances the qualitative internationalization of the University and expands the opportunities for our students and staff at the European level. EMERGE contributes to shaping the new European university reality and we are not alone in this path. Our choice is to design and carry out this course with direct participation and synergy of partnership with the local community, local bodies, the business community and active citizens.

Our vision is an extroverted university, open and essentially connected to its place. Paphos and Cyprus are not just part of a European network; actively contribute to its formation."
