Another project of major environmental and social importance for the city of Paphos and the wider urban area is entering the implementation trajectory.
Recently, the public presentation of the architectural plans for the formation of the Eastern Linear Park (boundaries of Paphos – Geroskipou – Konia) was made by the Office of Consultant Architects Chrysanthos E. Chrysanthou & Associates. The Park will start from the area of the Limassol Paphos Motorway Terminal Roundabout and will end in the area of Limnaria, in Kato Paphos.
The natural stream that flows east of the city of Paphos is the "border" of the Municipality of Paphos with the Municipality of East Paphos will be formed and given to the citizens. A total of 6.5 kilometers will be created, including the branches, which will include a playground, a pedestrian path, a bicycle path, an outdoor gym, sports and rest areas, information points, parking lots, etc. The Park will function as a natural extension of the Coastal Pedestrian Road on the coastal front of the two Municipalities.
The estimated total cost of the project is in the order of €9,250,000 including the cost of the studies and VAT. This amount does not include the cost of land expropriation, which has not yet been estimated. The Municipality of Paphos plans to create at a later stage the western linear park that will start from the coastal area of Tombs of the Kings to Mesogi.
