EAC SMART METER INSTALLATIONS

EAC SMART METER INSTALLATIONS - Filenews 27/2

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus announced that the mass installation of smart meters in all regions of Cyprus continues throughout March, as part of the modernization of the electricity network.

According to the EAC, the program is being implemented simultaneously in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos, with crews replacing existing meters in specific neighbourhoods and roads.

Installation areas

In Nicosia, the works cover Agios Dometios and the Ippodromo area, on either side of Dimokratias Street, between Grigori Afxentiou, Vasileos Pavlou, Gjirokastrou, Agiou Pavlos and Parthenonos streets, up to the boundaries of the green line.

In Limassol, the installation takes place in the Katholiki area, north of the Municipal Hall, on an extensive network of streets in the historic and administrative center of the city.

In Larnaca, the program concerns areas on both sides of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, from Grigori Afxentiou to the Port roundabout, as well as zones between Tassos Papadopoulos, Spyros Kyprianou and Agioi Anargyroi avenues.

In Famagusta, the works are focused on Ayia Napa and in particular in the city center, on either side of Tefkrou Anthia and Kataspilon streets.

In Paphos, cash replacement is done in the Agios Pavlos area, on an extensive network of streets and avenues in the urban center.

Short interruption of supply

The EAC reminds that for the safe replacement of the meter, a temporary power outage is required, which is not expected to exceed 20 minutes. The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience and calls on the public to show understanding.
