PAPHOS CARNIVAL 2026 - THE MYSTERY OF THE GOLDEN MASK"
AN INTERACTIVE FAMILY MUSICAL STORY SHOW
Attikon Multicultural Space
19 February - 7pm
The heart of Venice comes alive at the Pafitiko Carnival 2026 through a unique family event that combines music, theater and creative action. "The Mystery of the Golden Mask" is an interactive musical storytelling show designed for children aged five to thirteen, where imagination, music, and participation become a magical journey for the whole family. The event will take place on Thursday, February 19, at 19.00 at the "Attikon" Multipurpose Center.
The story unfolds in Venice of Carnival season, where a mysterious Thief of the Sounds imprisons the music and colours of the city inside a white mask. Children are invited to be Carnival Guardians by making their own glittering masks and actively participating in the search for lost music through play, movement, theatrical play and imagination.
During the performance, young spectators come in contact with iconic works of the classical repertoire, by composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, Grieg, Khachaturian and Massenet. Music is not limited to background but becomes a living dramatic element that activates characters and emotions, teaching children the role of sound, rhythm, and expression.
The show begins with the making of the masks by the children themselves, which will be used throughout its run.
