TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT OF IMPROVEMENT OF ARCHBISHOP MAKARIOS III AVENUE IN THE AREAS OF THE MUNICIPALITIES OF PAFOS AND HOLY GARDEN (KONIA) (DEPARTMENT)
The Municipality of Pafos announces that within the context of the works to improve Archbishop Makarios III Avenue (section) it is necessary to occupy part of the ascent lane of the Avenue (along its northern side) to perform the required works. Part of this will have to remain closed for a reasonable period of time, from its joining with Achepans Street to the joining of the avenue with Thassos Street (Konia).
It is noted that the two above-mentioned passages will operate, the main Thassos normally, while the Achepans road partially, since traffic will be done smoothly on the uphill lane, and on the downhill lane, from the height of the road connection with Vassilikon Street and up to the connection with the 'under improvements' the boulevard will be allowed to use ONLY by ambulances.
The climb to Konia and the wider area will be done ONLY from the highway exit to Konia.
Work will start at 06.00 a.m. on Thursday 29/01/2026 and will be completed in approximately three months from the start date.
To avoid any inconvenience to the public, a Traffic Management Plan has been developed to minimize the impact of the road network. Depending on the progress of the works, the corresponding traffic arrangements will be made.
Drivers are requested to use the side roads to avoid traffic congestion and inconvenience.
The Municipality of Pafos assures the public that it is making every effort to cause the least possible inconvenience from the execution of this important project and asks for their cooperation and understanding.
