ROADS CLOSED IN NICOSIA ON SUNDAY DUE TO CHARITY RUNNING RACES - SEE STREETS AND TIMES

Roads in Nicosia will be closed to traffic on Sunday, January 18, 2026, for the safe conduct of running races. During the charity running races, traffic will be diverted through adjacent roads.

Members of the Police will be in the area to provide assistance to the public and regulate traffic, while there will be temporary road signs on the road network to facilitate passing vehicle drivers.

The following roads will be closed from 5.45 in the morning, until 1.00 in the afternoon on Sunday:

  • Rigenis Street
  • Paphos Street
  • Mickey Theodoraki Street
  • Markos Drakou Square
  • Kinyra Street
  • Nehrou Street
  • Lord Byron Street
  • Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue, where one lane of traffic will remain closed, in the section between the junction with Lordou Vyronos Street and the roundabout with Iroon and Kyriakou Matsi Streets, in Engomi and Agios Dometios
  • Prokopiou Street and Archangelou Michael Avenue, where one lane of traffic will remain closed, in the section between the junction with Georgiou Griva Digeni Avenue and the junction with Lefkotheou Avenue and Makedonitissis Street
  • Egypt Street
  • Omirou Avenue, where one lane of traffic will remain closed, in the section next to the Statue of Solomos and Eleftherias Square
  • Stasinou Avenue, where one lane of traffic will remain closed
  • Archbishop Makarios II Square
  • Konstantinou Palaiologou Street
  • Nikiforou Foka Street
  • Athinas Street
  • Vasileos Georgiou II Street
  • Spyrou Christodoulou Street
  • Christaki Christofides Street
  • Aegean Street
  • Archbishop Makarios III Street, in the area of Palouriotissa
  • St. Hilarion Street
  • roundabout of Kantaras and Ilarionos avenues, in the area of Palouriotissa
  • Cooperation Street
  • Markou Botsari Street
  • the return to the roundabout of Agios Ilarionos Avenue and Christou Samara Street.
