The Northern Lights were also recorded in Cyprus, a phenomenon that is considered extremely rare for our island.
The rare recording was made by Christos Mastis, who explained to SigmaLive that the phenomenon was not visible to the eye except in long-exposure photographs.
He noted that this particular photograph was taken with the Nikon Z6II (at 24mm @ f/4, shutter speed 6″ and ISO 6400) from a road from Linou to Pyrgos in Nicosia on Monday night (19/1).
The powerful solar storm that began affecting the Earth on Monday and may cause problems in power grids and satellite operations, was accompanied by the appearance of the impressive phenomenon in areas where its recording is considered extremely rare.
