“GREENING OUR LAND''' - Tree-Planting by Pafos Tourism Board and Dept. of Forests
Under the slogan “Greening Our Land”, the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, with the financial support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and in close cooperation with the Department of Forests – Pafos District, carried out a tree-planting today, Thursday, 8 January 2026, in the coastal area of the community of Gialia, within the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous.
The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen efforts against climate change, contribute to the gradual restoration of green spaces, and enhance the overall aesthetic improvement of the area.
For the purposes of the tree-planting action, the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism provided the Department of Forests with approximately 160 young trees for this specific area, which required environmental enhancement.
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism extends its sincere thanks to the Department of Forests – Pafos District for the excellent cooperation and joint effort, and calls upon all stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at the protection and restoration of green areas, as actions that contribute both to the beautification of our island and to the fight against global warming.
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism also plans to implement similar actions throughout the remainder of 2026.
