The Municipality of Ierokipia, in the context of upgrading its social interventions in the community and strengthening social support services to the citizens, participates in the "Neighbourhood Social Worker" program.
The social worker of the neighbourhood will be the point of reference for the residents of the municipality in the provision of social services, which will be offered free of charge. The aim of the program is to facilitate the access of citizens to social services, the immediate and flexible provision of social support services, the empowerment and protection of vulnerable members, the identification and immediate response to social needs and problems.
The role of the Social Worker, stated in a relevant announcement, is individual and family counselling support, the first point of contact for psychosocial support, the management of social problems, the awareness and activation of citizens on local social issues, the information, guidance and referral to competent services and home visits and on-site interventions.
The "Neighbourhood Social Worker" Program is part of the Project "Restructuring of Social Welfare Services", which is implemented under the Cohesion Policy Program "THALIA 2021 – 2027" with the co-financing of the EU
