Μια βραδιά γεμάτη ρυθμούς, μελωδίες και χρώματα της Μεσογείου έρχεται για πρώτη φορά στην Κύπρο! Το project θα παρουσιαστεί την Πέμπτη 5 Φεβρουαρίου η ώρα 19:30 στο Τεχνόπολις 20.
Το μουσικό project Echoes of Becoming, που ξεκίνησε στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και ταξίδεψε μέσα από διαφορετικούς πολιτισμούς, παρουσιάζει ένα μοναδικό πρόγραμμα που συνδυάζει world music και μεσογειακή jazz.
Η Ελίνα Γεωργίου μαζί με τον Ζήνωνα Οικονομίδη προσφέρουν μια μουσική εμπειρία με επιρροές από την Κύπρο την Ελλάδα, την Αρμενία, και την ευρύτερη περιοχή των Βαλκανίων και της Μέσης Ανατολής.
Το ρεπερτόριο περιλαμβάνει έργα καταξιωμένων καλλιτεχνών όπως ο Ara Dinkjian, καθώς και πρωτότυπες συνθέσεις που αντλούν έμπνευση από τους ήχους και τις παραδόσεις της ευρύτερης μεσογειακής περιοχής.
Το σχήμα δημιουργεί ένα καθηλωτικό μουσικό ταξίδι γεμάτο συναίσθημα και αυθεντικότητα. Η συναυλία υπόσχεται μια βραδιά όπου ο αυτοσχεδιασμός συναντά τους ήχους της Μεσογείου και τη βαθιά μουσική κληρονομιά της Ανατολής.

An evening filled with Mediterranean rhythms, melodies, and colors comes to Cyprus for the very first time!
The music project Echoes of Becoming, which began in the United States and has travelled through different cultures, presents a unique programme combining world music with Mediterranean jazz.
Elina Georgiou together with Zenonas Economides offer a musical experience influenced by Cyprus, Greece, Armenia, and the wider regions of the Balkans and the Middle East.
The repertoire includes works by acclaimed artists such as Ara Dinkjian, as well as original compositions inspired by the sounds and traditions of the broader Mediterranean area.
The ensemble creates a captivating musical journey full of emotion and authenticity. The concert promises an evening where improvisation meets the sounds of the Mediterranean and the deep musical heritage of the East.
The project’s first appearance in Cyprus is a rare opportunity for the audience of Paphos to experience this unique musical proposal.

A few words about the musicians:
Elina Georgiou
Elina Georgiou is a Cypriot clarinetist whose musical journey bridges classical training with folk and traditional music from Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans, and the wider Eastern Mediterranean. She studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons, Belgium, while also spending significant time in Athens, where she immersed herself in local folk and traditional music scenes.
In recent years, her artistic focus has centered on cross-cultural projects that blend traditional repertoires with contemporary elements, emphasizing musical dialogue, migration, and shared heritage. She has participated in the Global Musicians Workshop in Boston, where she had the honor of performing alongside Ara Dinkjian, and has taken part in the Middle Eastern Music Camp and the Balkan Music Camp in Mendocino, California.
Elina has collaborated with a wide range of prominent Greek and Cypriot artists, including Kostas Makedonas, Giota Negka, Alkistis Protopsalti, and Foteini Velesiotou, among others.

During his time in the UK, he performed on acoustic instruments such as guitar and bouzouki in various ensembles, including the Sheffield Indian Ensemble and folk groups, fostering a strong interest in cross-cultural collaboration. Alongside his acoustic work, he has extensive experience performing fusion music on electric guitar, blending elements of rock, jazz, and world music.
Since completing his master’s degree, Zenonas has established himself as a versatile session musician, performing across a wide range of genres, from metal and fusion to folk and traditional music.
