The Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection (YMDP) has revoked the international protection status enjoyed by Palestinians involved in the January 17 incidents in Larnaca.
Competent sources told the Cyprus News Agency that from now on, the Deputy Ministry will implement the legislation that was recently enacted, following a bill submitted by the Deputy Ministry, and will allow the removal of international protection from foreigners who commit criminal offenses.
They also noted that "the Government continues to implement a strict immigration policy, with zero tolerance for delinquent and criminal behaviour, with the primary goal of safeguarding public order and national security".
