CYPRUS ENTERS THE 'REFRIGERATOR' - SNOW, RAIN AND STORMS FROM MONDAY

Weak low pressure is affecting the area, while a cold air mass is expected from Monday.

Today the weather will initially be partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated rains, but gradually it will become mostly cloudy and in the afternoon local rains are expected, without ruling out a storm, mainly in the west and south. In the higher mountains, sleet or even snow is likely to fall. Winds will be mainly southwesterly, moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort and transient in the windward to very strong, 6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees inland and on the coasts and to 6 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times. It is expected to snow in the higher mountains. The winds will be mainly southwesterly, initially strong to very strong 5 to 6 Beaufort but will gradually become moderate 4 Beaufort. The sea will be rough to wavy but in the west it will be very wavy.

On Monday the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains, isolated thunderstorms and snow are expected at times in the higher mountains. The temperature will drop noticeably, to fluctuate below the climatic averages.

On Tuesday the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains are expected at times. The temperature will drop slightly.

On Wednesday the weather will be mostly clear. The temperature will rise.

The height of the snow in Troodos Square, at the time of issuing the bulletin, was 1 cm.
