Low pressure affects the area.
Tonight the weather will gradually become mostly cloudy, while later isolated rains and thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the western half of the island. Hail may fall in a storm. Snow or sleet is expected to fall in the higher mountains. Winds will blow southwest to northwest and gradually mainly northwest to north, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and on the windward coasts strong and transient to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough and temporarily to wavy while in the east it will be rough. The temperature will drop to around 6 degrees inland, around 9 on the coast and around zero degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.
Tomorrow the weather will initially be partly cloudy and locally mostly cloudy, while in the western half of the island there may be isolated rains, as well as snow or sleet in the higher mountains. Soon the weather will become partly cloudy. Winds will blow northwest to north moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and locally strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally rough. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees inland, around 16 on the coast and around 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow night the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will be mainly northwest to northeast light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and initially locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough to rough.
On Tuesday the weather will initially be mostly clear while later it will become mostly cloudy. Late in the evening and then local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially in the west and soon in the rest of the areas. Snow or sleet is expected to fall in the higher mountains. On Wednesday the weather will be cloudy with local rains, isolated thunderstorms and snow or sleet in the higher mountains.
On Thursday, New Year's Day, the weather will be generally partly cloudy.
The temperature until Thursday is not expected to change appreciably, remaining close to or slightly below the average climatic values.
