We are delighted to invite you to the piano and violin concert featuring violinist Lyusi Hovhannesyan and pianist David Anastasiou, who come together for a refined evening of Romantic and early-20th-century works. The recital will take place on the 9th of January, 20:00 at Technopolis 20 in Paphos. The recital is underwritten by luthier Marios Pavlou who has kindly provided an instrument to Miss Hovhannesyan for this recital. Mr Pavlou will also make a short presentation regarding the art of violin offering audiences an opportunity to hear his instruments live in a full recital setting.
Lyusi Hovhannesyan is an Armenian-Cypriot violinist whose musical journey began at age six under the guidance of her father, Robert Hovhannesyan. A former member of the Cyprus Young String Soloists, she performed in Brussels, Vienna, and Rome before joining the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, serving as Concertmaster in 2019. She later became a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, touring between 2018–2023. Lyusi completed her Bachelor’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and is pursuing her Master’s degree there with Professor Ye-Eun Choi. She is currently a member of Bochumer Symphoniker and is a First Prize recipient at the 2025 “Città di Cervignano” Competition.
David Anastasiou is a Cypriot concert pianist known for expressive performances and versatile collaborations. A graduate of the Nicosia Music Schoo under prof. Nicolas Constantinou, he debuted as soloist in 2015 with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra. He later studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Petras Geniusas and Fali Pavri, graduating with First Class Honours. David has performed in RCS series including “Mondays at One,” “Fridays at One,” “Piano and Dance,” and the “Plug Festival.” His accolades include first prize in the RCS Peter Lindsay Miller Competition. Active in chamber music, he co-founded the Immersio Duo and Euphonia Duo, performing widely across Scotland and Cyprus.
