The new Cypriot-made H-10 Poseidon Unmanned Aircraft of the Limassol company, based in Limassol, were presented before the public, during the celebration of the Artillery and Saint Barbara, patroness of the Saint of the Army, at the Camp of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis in Delikipos.
According to information from filenews, these weapons are now in the arsenal of the Artillery, for surveillance, reconnaissance and target pointing missions, offering the command serious operational advantages. The company has completed the training of the executives who will operate these systems which have been integrated into the operational planning of the Artillery. Along with the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, the company also handed over to the National Guard a Command and Control Station (C2).
The capabilities of the H-10 Poseidon
The Poseidon H10 is a vertical take-off and landing drone (VTOL UAV). It is an advanced system, offering operational capabilities that significantly enhance the surveillance and accuracy of ground forces. Designed for long-duration flights even in adverse weather conditions, the H-10 features an advanced day and night electrooptic system, enabling continuous surveillance, reconnaissance, and real-time information gathering.

At the same time, the H-10 has a target designation capability, allowing the precise detection and geolocation of enemy positions to support friendly fire.
Its long flight range and stability make it ideal for border patrols, critical infrastructure monitoring, early warning missions, and tactical support in an operational environment. Secure encrypted communications ensure that data is reliably transmitted to the operational center, without the risk of interference.
It is worth mentioning that this type of UAV, from Swarmly Aero, operates on the battlefields in Ukraine, with the information even pointing out that they have excellent performance.

Why does the National Guard need more drone pilots?
The National Guard is proceeding with the recruitment of five Non-Commissioned Officers in the form of a contract, for the staffing of the External Pilot (EP) specialty in the Unmanned Aircraft Weapon System (UAV), following the announcement issued yesterday by the Ministry of Defense.
According to the information, the announcement does not concern the H-10 Poseidon UAVs, but older systems acquired by the National Guard in 2019. As stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Christos Pieris, the National Guard needs 5 to 6 additional personnel for the 470 Unmanned Aircraft Squadron, so that it can operate with these means for more time.
As he mentioned, executives of the manufacturer are in Cyprus and are expected to train the interested operators. The announcement for the position, which concerns the A4 scale, is expected to strengthen the Unit's capabilities.
