Our country has been under the influence of the BYRON barometric for the last 24 hours, with the Department of Meteorology putting in place a new Yellow Warning from Saturday noon until 18:30 in the afternoon. The barometric low continues to affect Cyprus, bringing isolated but strong storms, with the intensity of the rain likely to exceed 35 millimeters per hour. According to the Meteorological Service, hail is not ruled out, while from time to time there will be thin dust in the atmosphere, mainly in the east.
From yesterday afternoon onwards, the clouds thickened in several areas, while the phenomena gradually expanded from the west and north of the island.
Today, initially, the weather will be partly cloudy with mainly medium and high clouds. It will soon become mostly cloudy, while, mainly in the afternoon and afternoon, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Hail may also fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly east to southeast and later locally variable, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient locally to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. In a storm, the winds may strengthen and change. The sea will be up to rough. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees inland, around 21 on the coast and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.
Isolated rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected tonight, mainly in the mountains and on the coast. Winds will be mainly southeast to southwest, light 3 and locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become a little rough and locally to rough. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees inland, around 12 on the south and east coasts, around 14 on the rest of the coasts and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the weather will be mostly cloudy with local rains and isolated thunderstorms. Hail may also fall in a storm.
The temperature will drop slightly until Tuesday, to fluctuate close to and slightly below the average climatic values.
