PAPHOS - VIDEO DOCUMENTARY SHOWS FRAME BY FRAME A BURGLAR BREAKING INTO A RESIDENCE

 Pafos Press 17 December

A video that records frame by frame the movements of a burglar as he enters a house in Chloraka to steal, has been circulating the internet since this morning, causing intense concern and discussion.

The material was initially posted on Facebook by the owner of the house and soon went viral, with dozens of users sharing and commenting on it, while calling on the authorities to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

In the original video —as it was circulated on social networks— the perpetrator’s face is clearly visible, which theoretically makes the Police’s work in identifying him easier.

PafosPress reports on the incident with the aim of both highlighting the audacity of such criminals and reminding everyone of the importance of taking protective measures for the safety of our homes and property.

However, despite the significant value of the material as an informative element, PafosPress cannot publish the video with the perpetrator's face visible, as this would constitute a violation of the legislation on the protection of personal data and the privacy of persons who have not yet been identified or convicted.

Following relevant guidance from our Legal Advisor, any publication of visual material will only be made with full coverage of the facial features, as required by law.

The Police continue their investigations to identify the perpetrator.
