PAPHOS DOCUMENT CENTRE DELAYED

The contractor has been delayed for more than three months to complete the work of the historical documentation center, according to the mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos.

The mayor of Paphos revealed that based on the provisions of the contract, for every day that the contractor delays delivering the project, the penalty is €4,000. However, the project, which will be completed in about a month, is pioneering for the city's data. It includes a Museum for the promotion of the city's history and the regeneration of customer spaces and streets in the area that extends from the Old Central Police Station to the Armenian Park.

Through the project, the Municipality of Paphos aims to create a bridge of memory and architecture between the Museum of Historical Memory and the balcony of the old town. The value of the project exceeds 11 million euros, includes VAT and includes the complete restoration and reuse of the building of the old police station for use as a historical documentation center of the city of Paphos, the addition and expansion of the building to meet the needs of the new use and the configuration of the space from the old police station to the Armenian Park. It also includes landscaping with greenery, a pedestrian bridge, canopies, urban equipment, etc.
