A 73-year-old British woman complained that her husband's heart was not found during the second autopsy performed in Britain, after his sudden death in Cyprus, according to a report in the Sun. The case has caused outrage in the family of 76-year-old Michael Greeley and is under investigation by local authorities in Rochdale.
Yvonne Greilly returned from her vacation in Cyprus faced, as she says, with "a chilling revelation". Her husband, a former cemetery caretaker, suddenly felt a severe cramp in his leg, and the situation worsened within minutes. According to the family's testimony, the 76-year-old died about ten minutes after arriving at the Famagusta General Hospital.
Officials informed the widow that an autopsy had been performed by a Cypriot pathologist. However, when the body was transported to Britain, it was found that the certificate did not indicate a cause of death, prompting a second autopsy to be ordered by the coroner's office in Rochdale.

During the examination, British medical examiners informed the family that Michael Greeley's heart was missing, which, as reported, makes it impossible to determine the cause of death. His widow said she was "speechless" by the briefing. The couple's daughter, Hayley, said the family is "very angry" and is asking for an explanation.
According to the same report, Cypriot police said the heart had been sent to a research center. The coroner's office in Rochdale confirmed that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
