INCREASED TRAFFIC AT CYPRIOT AIRPORTS DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON

 Filenews 26 December 2025

Increased traffic is observed at the Cypriot airports of Larnaca and Paphos, in the midst of the festive season.

Indicatively, the day after Christmas, Friday, December 26, 65 arrivals from international destinations and 38 departures are scheduled at Larnaca Airport. At the same time, at Paphos Airport, 14 arrivals and 13 departures are scheduled.

After all, passenger traffic at the two airports was increased throughout 2025. According to data published on the website of the management company Hermes Airports, already for the first 11 months of 2025 passenger traffic had exceeded the passenger traffic of the whole of 2024. Specifically, in the period January-November 20259,365,329 passengers passed through Larnaca Airport and 3,640,954 from Paphos Airport. The corresponding passenger traffic for the whole of 2024 was 8,661,354 for Larnaca and 3,633,990 for Paphos.

Due to the increased passenger traffic observed during the holidays, the parking lot at Larnaca Airport operates with limited availability due to increased demand. A representative of the management company told KYPE that these days there is increased demand due to the Christmas holiday season.

It is noted that this year another 500 new parking spaces were added with the availability reaching 3,500 spaces.

The company urges the traveling public to pre-book a parking space online through the website of the management company Hermes Airports to ensure availability, while if it cannot secure parking online, it is encouraged to consider other possible solutions.

It is noted that online booking ensures parking. Therefore, those who made their reservation will make the necessary arrangements to be served.
