Repatriations of third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus have increased in the last three years by 53%, according to data published on X by the Police. In the same period, arrivals fell by 86%.
Specifically, the Police, in a post on X, states that 11.500 foreigners who resided illegally in Cyprus were repatriated in 2025, through the operations of the Aliens and Immigration Service. In comparison, in 2022 voluntary and forced returns were 7,506, recording an increase of 53% in the last three years.
Indicatively, according to the Police, in 2023 repatriations amounted to 9.699 and in 2024 to 10.092.
As stated in the post, the Police participated this year in 19 FRONTEX return operations, during which more than 150 foreigners were repatriated.
In addition, it is noted that the arrivals of irregular migrants in 2025 amounted to 2,400. Compared to the arrivals of 17,434 arrivals recorded in 2022, a decrease of 86% is recorded in the last three years.
In 2023, arrivals fell to 10,994 and in 2024 to 6,109, while only 2,400 were recorded in 2025.
