Residents of the Chloraka community have been on high alert, especially in the last twenty-four hours, due to the frequent burglaries in homes and cars that have been recorded recently.
In various groups on social media, Chloraka residents are informed about the activities of burglars, with their attention focused on a specific person who uses a bicycle and in the morning hours, between 2-3 am, “hits” mainly cars.
This specific person has been placed under surveillance by residents of the area, who may stop him and hand him over to the Police as soon as they spot him on the street.
The specific perpetrator, who is described as a white man, of slim build with a red-orange bicycle, approximately 1.80m tall, acted early Christmas morning on the East side of Chloraka in the area to the left after Diplarkatzia.

The dynamic and targeted preventive operations of the Police continued during last night, with an enhanced presence in key points of urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
As part of these operations, the Police arrested a total of nine (9) persons on a nationwide basis, for cases involving serious criminal and other offenses.
Specifically:
In the province of Limassol, two arrests were made. The first concerned a wanted person for a case of burglary and theft from a goldsmith's shop, while the second (flagrante delicto), concerned possession and transport of explosives, as well as possession of an offensive instrument.
In the province of Paphos, four arrests were made concerning offenses of illegal stay in the territory of the Republic, illegal possession of drugs, possession of drugs and burglary tools, as well as theft.
In the provinces of Nicosia and Famagusta, three more arrests were made for offenses of illegal stay in the territory of the Republic, as well as other offenses.
At the same time, as part of the investigation of traffic offenses, six cars and one motorcycle were detained.
During the same night, extensive inspections were also carried out on a number of premises, with the aim of preventing and suppressing delinquent behaviours in a timely manner. In a premises in the province of Nicosia, seven minors were found, as a result of which the person in charge/organizer of the event was reported.
As far as the road network is concerned, more than 910 inspections were carried out, from which 160 traffic complaints emerged. Of these, 21 were related to driving under the influence of alcohol, while another 51 were related to exceeding the speed limit.
These operations are part of a broad, continuous and strengthened preventive plan of the Police, with an increased police presence, targeted controls and immediate operational action in all provinces, with the aim of preventing crime and strengthening the sense of security of citizens.

Inhalation of soot caused the death of the person who was found charred after a fire in a storage area of an apartment building in Nicosia, on Christmas Day, according to the findings of the legal autopsy.
The autopsy was performed today by medical examiners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodox Orthodoxou, during which blood samples and teeth were taken for identification purposes, while the results of the laboratory tests are awaited.
It is recalled that the tragedy was revealed shortly after midnight, when after a fire broke out in a storage area on the roof of an apartment building, a charred body was found inside the warehouse in an unrecognizable condition.
Authorities had said that DNA tests would be required for identification, while difficulties are being encountered in identifying people from the victim's family circle. At the same time, questions about the causes of the fire remain unanswered.
