A new yellow warning was issued by the Department of Meteorology, valid from 05:00 to 16:00 on December 10.
According to the announcement, a combination of rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected to affect the region, mainly the south and east, while it is possible that the northern as well as mountainous areas will also be affected. During a storm, hail is likely to occur, while the winds will change and strengthen.
The intensity of the rain is estimated to be between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, with the total rainfall expected to be around 50 millimeters over a period of six hours.

The barometric low named BYRON affects the area. The phenomena gradually weaken until Wednesday night.
Today the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected from time to time. Hail may also fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly north to northeast light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong and transient to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough on the west coast and on the rest of the coast to rough. The temperature will rise to around 18 degrees inland, around 20 on the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be partly cloudy at times and isolated rains are possible, mainly in coastal areas. On the highest peaks of Troodos it is possible that there will be light snowfall. Winds will be mainly northwest to northeast light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will be a little rough to rough. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast and around 2 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is likely to form locally.
On Thursday the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains or even an isolated storm are expected from time to time.
On Friday and Saturday the weather will be partly cloudy at times.
The temperature will not change significantly on Thursday, to fluctuate close to the average climatic values. On Friday and Saturday, a slight increase is expected gradually.
