A rainy period in which Cyprus will be affected by the barometric low named Byron, predicts the Department of Meteorology. According to the forecast, from tonight until Monday there will be occasional rains or even thunderstorms. In addition, from tomorrow the temperature will drop to be close to the average values for the season. In Troodos, it is possible that the first snow will fall.

The barometric low named BYRON is expected to affect the island from late afternoon. Dust will be suspended in the atmosphere from time to time.
Today, the weather will be partly cloudy, while isolated rains are expected. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort and transient locally to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees inland and on the coasts and to 12 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times, mainly in the west, southwest and north. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, light and initially to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough to rough. The temperature will drop to 10 degrees inland, around 14 on the coast and 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, while mainly after noon, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected. On the highest peaks of Troodos it is possible that snow or sleet will fall, especially during the evening hours. On Sunday and Monday the weather will be mostly cloudy with local rains and isolated thunderstorms. On the highest peaks of Troodos it is possible that snow or sleet will fall.
The temperature will drop on Saturday, to fluctuate close to the average climatic values, while on Sunday and Monday it is not expected to change appreciably.
