Works for the replacement of safety barriers in sections of the Limassol-Nicosia and Limassol-Paphos motorways, asphalt pavement maintenance works in a section of the Parekklisia-Eptagonia road (E109), periodic maintenance works for the road surface of the Limassol-Nicosia motorway (A1), cleaning works for the Paphos-Limassol motorway (A6), reconstruction works for the retaining walls before the entrance to the Community of Kato Drys and works for the motorway Nicosia-Limassol (A1), announced the Department of Public Works.
Specifically, the Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that from Monday, November 3, 2025, until Monday, November 20, 2025, from 20:30 to 05:30 of the next day, except Fridays and weekends, safety barrier replacement works will be carried out on sections of the Limassol-Nicosia and Limassol-Paphos highway, from the exit of Skarinou to the exit of Petra of Romiou in both directions.
During the execution of the works, the expressway lane of the motorway will be closed in parts over a length of 200m. approximately and the traffic police will be channlled to the adjacent lane.
Also, the Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 07:00 to 16:00, asphalt road maintenance works will be carried out on a section of the Parekklisia-Eptagonia road (E109).
During the course of the works, one traffic lane in a length of 100m will be partially closed at any time. approximately and traffic will be managed alternately with the "STOP & GO" system with appropriate signalling.
In addition, the Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that from Monday, November 3, 2025, until Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 20:00 to 05:30 of the next day, periodic maintenance works will be carried out on the road surface of the Limassol-Nicosia highway (A1), in the section Choirokoitia to Skarinou in the direction of Nicosia.
During the execution of the works, the two lanes of the motorway in the direction of Nicosia will be partially closed for a length of 3 km. approximately and the traffic will be channelled in the opposite direction, which will operate with two-way traffic.
Also, the Paphos District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that from Monday, November 3, 2025, until Friday, November 7, 2025, from 08:00 to 15:00, cleaning works will be carried out on the Paphos-Limassol highway (A6) in both directions.
During the execution of the works, part of the motorway support will be partially closed. Traffic will be carried out seamlessly in the traffic lanes.
In addition, the Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that the reconstruction works of the retaining walls before the entrance of the Community of Kato Drytha continue until Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and thus the Pano Lefkara-Kato Dry-Vavla road will remain closed to traffic.
During the execution of the works, drivers coming from the Nicosia-Limassol highway to Kato Drys, should use the exit of Choirokoitia and then, through the Choirokoitia-Vavla-Ora road, and through the Community of Vavla to reach their destination.
The same route should be followed by drivers who wish to approach the Monastery of Agios Minas, which is located between Vavla and Kato Drys, in view of the festival organized on the occasion of the feast of the Great Martyr on November 11.
Similarly, drivers from Lefkara to Vavla should follow a route through the Nicosia-Limassol highway and then through the Choirokoitia-Vvla-Oras road.
In the meantime, the Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that works will be carried out on the Nicosia-Limassol highway (A1), as follows:
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 20:30 to 05:30 of the next day, the removal and repaving works of the road surface will be carried out on the Limassol-Nicosia highway in the direction of Nicosia. During the works, all three lanes of the highway in the direction of Nicosia will be closed, from the height of the exit to Vivichaniki Daliou to the Latsia weighing station and traffic will be channelled to one lane in the opposite direction of traffic, which will operate with two-way traffic.
Due to the works, the exit to Vivichaniki Daliou and Tseri, as well as the exit to the Nicosia ring road in the Limassol-Nicosia direction will remain closed. Drivers who would like to head to Lakatameia, Tseri, Dali and the Perimeter, are urged to use the previous exit of Kotsiatis and follow the route from the old Nicosia-Limassol road (B1). Then, through the light-controlled junction in the area of Dali (Halepianes), they will be able to turn left towards Lakatameia, Tseri and Periperiko and, turning right, towards Dali.
Accordingly, the entrance to the Nicosia-Limassol to Nicosia highway from the old Nicosia-Limassol road will be closed. Drivers are encouraged to use the next Alexander the Great interchange.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the inevitable inconvenience that will be caused and calls on the public to show the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
