FLAMINGO GRAFFITI WELCOMES TRAVELLERS TO LARNACA

 Filenews 15 November 2025

The beautiful flamingos may not have arrived at the Larnaca Salt Lake yet, however, those who arrive by plane in Cyprus or those who pass through the area, will be able to enjoy a work of art in their honor. The renowned Paparazzi artist, following the initiative of the Larnaca Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), created a graffiti with flamingo in an old tank located on a hill opposite the large salt lake on Artemis Avenue, which leads to the airport.

The artwork was implemented with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Larnaca and is fully integrated into the tourism branding of Larnaca. "Its theme is inspired by the salt lake and flamingos, one of the most recognizable natural symbols of the city. The back side of the tank, which is visible to arrivals at the airport, bears the slogan of Larnaca Welcome Back, offering a warm welcome to visitors", says ETAP Larnaca.

The project is located in one of the busiest parts of Larnaca and will contribute to the improvement of the image of the area, but also to the enhancement of the tourist promotion of the city. "From the Salt Lake and the coastal road to the passengers heading to and from the airport, the project acts as an artistic ambassador of the city," ETAP points out, noting that autonomous lightbulbs with photovoltaic panels were installed, ensuring the project's night-time projection.
