Forest fires were brought under full control on Sunday in areas of the communities of Agia Varvara and Anarita in the Paphos district. As announced by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, the two fires broke out at 10:20yesterday morning and were brought under full control at 11:30.
In the area of Agia Varvara, an area of one hectare covered with reeds was burned, and in the area of Anarita, an area of one hectare covered with bushes and low wild vegetation was burned, it is added.
4 people from the Department of Forests with a fire truck, 4 people from the Fire Service with two fire trucks and 2 people from the Game and Fauna Service with a fire truck tried to extinguish the fires.
The causes of the fire in the two areas are being investigated.
