A large fire that broke out about an hour ago in a rural location between the communities of Koili and Stroumbi in the province of Paphos is in progress. The fire broke out for reasons still unknown, however due to the strong winds that are blowing today, it is spreading very quickly, causing an intense mobilization of the fire brigades.
Fire trucks from the Paphos and rural stations, forces of the Department of Forests, as well as crews of the community authorities have already rushed to the scene and are operating.
The fire is burning areas with dry grass, wild vegetation and trees, without so far endangering the residential area of the surrounding communities.
Update - allegedly there is a second fire on the Tala/Koili border close to this one.
