The Electricity Authority of Cyprus informs the public that in recent weeks there has been an unprecedented increase in applications for the installation of photovoltaic systems, mainly in the context of the government's "Photovoltaics for All" plan.
This strong response from citizens exceeds any previous period and is a clear indication of society's mature shift towards clean energy and self-production.
The increased participation has created a significantly increased workload in the services dealing with the management and control of applications. In order to speed up the processing and enhance the service, the EAC is proceeding with the purchase of temporary staff services, which will directly support the relevant procedures.
At the same time, due to the very large number of incoming calls, there are delays in telephone service. With the strengthening of the service teams, as well as the internal improvements already underway, the response time is expected to gradually and substantially improve within the coming weeks.
The Agency is in close cooperation with the relevant state authorities for the smooth implementation of energy plans and the support of all citizens who invest in green energy solutions.
Our goal, says an EAC announcement, "remains the reliable, timely and transparent service of all applicants, with absolute respect for their time and needs. The EAC warmly thanks the public for their trust and cooperation and assures that all teams are working intensively so that the application management process can be fully normalized and continue at the fastest possible pace."
