The authorities were mobilized. After evaluating information, members of the Police carried out searches in an open area in Nicosia, where they found seven pistols, at noon on Sunday 02/11. The weapons were received and will be sent for scientific examination, according to preliminary information.
As Filenews is informed, the pistols were found in an area between Engomi and Makedonitissa.
According to information, the weapon was found in a backpack, which was hidden in grass, while all the weapons were in usable condition and were received by the Police.
At the same time, the members of the Nicosia Police Department are examining closed security circuits in the area, while evaluating information that may lead to the identification of the owners of the weapons or the persons who hid them at the scene.
It is not excluded, according to police sources, that the location of the weapon prevented the occurrence of a criminal act. The investigations continue. Investigations are ongoing to establish information on the origin of the weapons and to investigate a possible link to other offences.
