CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

With the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, which marks the start of the festive events in the city, Paphos welcomes the brightest time of the year, next Friday, November 28th, at Kennedy Square, in the context of a rich event that will begin at 6.30 pm.
With the start of the festive season, the city transforms into a glamorous and attractive destination, offering the public a unique evening of music, dance and a joyful atmosphere.
The event begins at 6.30 pm. with the Christmas Parade, which will start from the 1st Lyceum of Ethnarch Makarios III and end at Kennedy Square. The Pafos Municipality Philharmonic, the Konstantina Hatzieftychiou Dance Academy Cheerleaders, the School of Fine Arts, the Jake Athanasiades Danceroom Dance School and the Pafos Music School will flood the streets and the Square with music, rhythm, colours and smiles, while the “Love Bus” will once again be the emblematic backdrop of the event before it begins its established Christmas routes in the city.
The Christmas Tree will be lit by the Mayor of Pafos, Mr. Phaedonas Phaedonas, in the presence of the Members of the Municipal Council.
The artistic part of the event will be provided by Cyprus’ representatives in Junior Eurovision 2025, Christos Georgiou and Rafaella Panteli, who will add a special touch to the evening.
The concert “Have Yourself a Very Big Band Christmas” will follow with the 17-member Cyprus Collective Big Band. The program includes an excerpt from Duke Ellington’s jazz version of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, as well as classic Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells, White Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Blue Christmas, Merry Christmas Baby and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.
Houses with traditional delicacies and mulled wine will operate in Kennedy Square, creating a festive atmosphere worthy of the occasion. The evening will continue with an After Party from Dee Jay Radio, which will keep the fun going until 1:00 a.m.
The event will be hosted by Elias Chaldoupis and Georgia Panayi. The event is promoted as Communication Sponsors by Love Radio and Dee Jay Radio.
