The Hellenic Betting Authority (NBA) has announced the financial results for the second quarter of 2025, confirming the continued upward momentum of the betting market. The gross revenue of Class A (land-based betting) and Class B (online betting) recipients recorded an increase of 4%, reaching €298.1 million, from €287.9 million. in 2024. Compared to 2023, the increase reaches 16%.

Of total revenues, €73.9 million came from Class A and €224.2 million from Class B. Class A revenues decreased by 3% compared to 2024, but increased by 3% compared to 2023, while Class B increased by 6% and 21%, respectively.

Player Winnings and Betting Odds

Player earnings for the two categories amounted to €260.1 million, up 5% compared to 2024 and 14% compared to 2023. Class B accounts for the largest share of profits, with €200.4 million.

Class A and B betting earnings amounted to €37.9 million, showing a decrease of 3% from €39.2 million. in 2024. Analytically:

  • Class A: €14.2 million, down 9%
  • Class B: €23.8 million, an increase of 1%

Reduction of Class A premises and employees

The number of Class A premises decreased by 3%, reaching 460 nationwide:

  • Nicosia: 163
  • Limassol: 130
  • Larnaca: 84
  • Paphos: 48
  • Famagusta: 35

The number of employees in the licensed premises amounted to 1,436, reduced by 2% compared to 2024. The 79% reduction in license cancellations and withdrawals is significant.

Intensification of blocking of illegal websites

The NBA continues its efforts to identify and block illegal betting websites. In the second quarter of 2025, the relevant list reached 21,633 websites, with 322 new additions – an increase of 6% compared to 2024.
