On the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Road Accidents, the Municipal Youth Council of the Municipality of Paphos, in collaboration with the Traffic Department of the Paphos Police Directorate and the Community Policing, is organizing an event dedicated to the memory of all those who lost their lives on the asphalt.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 8, at 6:00 p.m., in Kennedy Square, in the center of Paphos.
This initiative is part of raising awareness among society and especially among young people about the serious problem of road accidents, which continue to take human lives and cause untold suffering to families and communities.
The event will include a silent march through the main streets of Paphos, as well as a candle-lighting ceremony in Kennedy Square, as a sign of respect and honour to the victims of road accidents.
Through this action, the Municipal Youth Council of the Municipality aims to send a strong message of prevention and responsibility to all the citizens of our city and especially young drivers, promoting safe driving, respect for the Road Traffic Code and the cultivation of road awareness.
The International Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, established by the United Nations, is a significant opportunity for collective reflection, empathy, and a commitment to action aimed at reducing road accidents and saving lives.
The Paphos Municipal Youth Council invites all citizens, organized groups and especially young people to be dynamically present, participating with respect and sensitivity in this symbolic but essential event of remembrance and awakening.
