WINTER PAPHOS - BRITAIN AND ISRAEL MAINAIN SATISFACTORY TOURIST FLOWS

Filenews 16 October 2025 - by Dora Christodoulou

A satisfactory tourist flow is recorded to Paphos in the winter season as well, according to the data recorded today by the major tour operators in Europe.

According to this data, the tourist flow from the United Kingdom and Israel to Paphos is expected to continue at levels that will keep the hotel and wider tourism industry in satisfactory operation during the winter season and until the first notable tourist flow begins in March-April. The surge in traffic from Israel is particularly important, although it has begun at the end of the tourist season, apparently due to the end of the war in Gaza and regional conflicts.

The satisfactory winter traffic in Paphos is estimated, by officials of the tourism industry of the province, to be strengthened even to a lesser extent by the two aforementioned countries, and by central and northern Europe as a result of Ryanair's flight schedule.

Countries such as Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, are increasingly acquiring a stable role in the tourist landscape of the province all year round. Ryanair's flight schedule is the reason for this surge in the arrival of visitors from the central region of the old continent, since the giant of low-cost airlines connects Paphos with dozens of airports in these countries all year round.

A factor that, as pointed out by the tourism agencies of Paphos, has made these countries an important factor for the year-round tourist flow to Paphos.

At the same time, until the end of October, the tourism and economic operators of Paphos continue the targeted digital advertising campaign in various European destinations that are considered vital for the tourism development of the province.

And this year's campaign, which has been running since spring, is based on the successful model of using the latest digital and technological developments for advertising penetration in sources used by European consumers and potential visitors to the island. Based on the successful effort of the last five years, tourism operators are repeating the digital advertising campaign which mainly aims to increase the recognition of the destination, to attract better quality visitors, as well as visitors who have easy or satisfactory air access to Cyprus and especially to Paphos.

The campaign runs in 12 countries with a particular focus on the important markets of Britain, Germany, Austria, Poland and France, while using specialized algorithmic technology the campaign targets a predetermined range of potential visitors who are actively interested online to travel to the destination or competing destinations.
