A beautiful initiative that sends a message of respect and coexistence came yesterday from a small group of people living in Paphos and originally from Syria. Seeing that the area around the park and the adjacent parking lot where they pass daily on Akamantidos Street, was filled with garbage, they decided to take action without a second thought. So they took a large construction bag and cleaned the area themselves, setting the example of an active citizen who cares about the environment and his neighborhood. This initiative shows that respect for the place where you live has no nationality, and that through actions and not words, a more united and humane society can be built. They themselves, wanting to encourage others to do the same, posted a video of their action - a small but powerful message that cleanliness, solidarity and respect are values that unite us all.
