The Deputy Ministry has gradually changed its mix of actions, focusing mainly on digital marketing. At the same time, it continues to include in its actions traditional ways of promotion, such as participation in tourist exhibitions abroad, the organization of fam trips, etc.
For promotion purposes, a total of approximately €31.99 million has been included in the budget of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism for 2026. From this amount, the expenditure of €6.10 million, which concerns appropriations for the organization of the EU Presidency in the first half of 2026, has been deducted. In detail, appropriations of €6.76 million are included. for hosting purposes, €27.7 million. for information campaigns and €3.6 million. to participate in exhibitions and other events.
At the same time, the Deputy Ministry places particular emphasis on the continuous upgrading of the tourism product and the enrichment of the infrastructure and services provided throughout the territory of free Cyprus.
The action is implemented through targeted grant schemes aimed at specific geographical areas, tourism businesses or local authorities. The budget of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism for 2026 also includes grant schemes, which mainly concern the promotion of special forms of tourism and the upgrading of infrastructure and services provided, with a total welfare of €13.22 million, of which €9.38 million. concern the Recovery Plan and €3.84 million. national resources.
