An end to the suffering of doctors and patients due to the inability to access the GHS software.
The Health Insurance Organization announced to all the health service providers of the System that the block that had been put into operation in the previous months, for security reasons, no longer exists and therefore access to the computerized system is now possible, whether the provider or the patient is in Cyprus or not.
It is recalled that this particular block had caused quite a big problem during the summer months due to the absence of a large number of doctors abroad. However, it generally affected the immediate service of patients during the periods when doctors were outside Cyprus for professional reasons or for educational reasons.
Access to the software for many months was only possible from Cyprus and Greece.
The HIO had made it clear since last August that the blocking had been put into operation for purely precautionary security reasons (to avoid attacks by hackers), stressing that the software of the General Health System had not received any cyberattack.
