The installation of smart boxes for the storage of personal belongings (smart boxes) has been completed in seven parts of the beaches of the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia, as part of a pioneering initiative to enhance the safety and service of visitors.
According to the Municipality, two guarding stations have been installed at Fig Tree Bay beach and five stations at Vrysi beach, while in April 2026 another station will be added to Kappari beach.
Smart boxes provide a solution to the problem of storing bathers' belongings, but also to the safety needs of citizens exercising on the coastal pedestrian street.
The activation of the smart boxes is done either with palm recognition or with a four-digit personal code, while inside them there is a mobile phone charging cable.
Rental is made according to the size and duration of use:
🔹 Small boxes
- 1 hour: €1
- 2 hours: €2
- 3 hours: €3
- 3–6 hours: €4.80
- 6–12 hours: €6
- 12–24 hours: €8.90
🔹 Large boxes
- 1 hour: €2
- 2 hours: €3,50
- 3 hours: €4.80
- 3–6 hours: €7.80
- 6–12 hours: €10
- 12–24 hours: €12.90
The installation and operation of smart boxes has been entrusted to a private company, which determines the terms of use and charges.
