The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre has announced the creation of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Larnaca – Famagusta, a new, fully equipped oncology care centre that will serve the residents of the districts of Larnaca and free Famagusta. The Center will be built on Papanikoli Street, near the Antonis Papadopothlos Stadium in Larnaca and is expected to be operational in the summer of 2026.
The creation of the new Center, as stated in an announcement, "is a milestone for oncology care in Cyprus, as it substantially enhances patients' access to specialized services close to their place of residence. The initiative is part of the expansion strategy of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, with the aim of providing modern and comprehensive care to even more of our fellow human beings."
The new Center will offer pathological oncology services (chemotherapy, hormone therapy, etc.) and radiotherapy, with the installation of a state-of-the-art linear accelerator. It will be staffed by experienced and specialized staff of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, while the doctors of the specialized cancer units will make regular visits to Larnaca to meet the needs of patients in the area, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
The President of the Board of Commissioners of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Mr. Christos M. Triantaphyllides, stated: "The decision of the Centre's Founders, the Republic of Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus, to establish the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Larnaca – Famagusta, was taken by the Centre's Board of Commissioners taking into account the need for organised and quality services in the region. Together with the Founders and private donors, who support our work with their memorable contributions, we are bringing the Beacon of Hope — the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center — closer to patients and their relatives, close to home, further upgrading access to the care provided."
With the creation of the new Centre, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre expands its physical presence and strengthens its mission to offer comprehensive, innovative and high-quality care to all cancer patients in Cyprus.
