The Ministry of Health has announced the immediate recall of a specific batch of Cypriot-made pork sheftalia, following the detection of the dangerous microbe Salmonella spp. in the context of official market controls.
The infection was detected after sampling by the Health Services and confirmed by laboratory tests at the General Chemical State Laboratory. The product concerns deep-frozen sieftalia under the trade name "Citromilidis", in a package of 700 grams, with a production date of 23/07/2025 and consumption preferably before 23/07/2026.
Salmonella can cause serious food poisoning, which is why the competent services have given instructions for the immediate withdrawal of all quantities of this batch from the market. At the same time, the manufacturing company was informed.
The Ministry of Health appeals to consumers not to consume this product, in case they have already purchased it, but to return it to the stores where they bought it.
