Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway
On the slopes of all the Larnaca District motorways, as well as the “Kalo Chorio” and “Rizoelia” roundabouts, during the period 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, the Department of Forestry will carry out works, pruning and watering plants. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected. On the section of the motorway between Xylotympos and Ayia Napa, during the period 08/09/2025–31/10/2025, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 the following morning, weekdays except Fridays, weekends and holidays, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the motorway lane adjacent to the central island, from the Xylotympos area to the Ayia Napa roundabout, will be closed, successively for a length of 100 meters each time, simultaneously from both directions, at nine different points.
During the period 22/09/2025 – 17/10/2025, daily, except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, on sections of the Larnaca-Agia Napa, Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the Larnaca District, maintenance work on safety barriers will be carried out. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the section of the motorway between the Rizoelia roundabout and Xylotympos, from Monday 29/09/2025 until Monday 06/10/2025, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 16:00, work will be carried out on the central island by the Department of Forestry. During the work, the traffic lane adjacent to the central island, in the direction of Famagusta district, will be closed in sections for a length of 1.5 km. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the highway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, from 06/10/2025 to 14/10/2025, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, the Department of Forestry will carry out irrigation works on the central island. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be closed in sections, for a length of approximately 1500m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway On the slopes of all the Larnaca District motorways, as well as the “Kalo Chorio” and “Rizoelia” roundabouts, during the period 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, the Department of Forestry will carry out works, pruning and watering plants. During the period 22/09/2025 – 17/10/2025, daily, except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, on sections of the Larnaca-Kofinos, Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Ayia Napa motorways, in the Larnaca District, maintenance work on safety barriers will be carried out. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the road connecting the Nicosia-Limassol motorway with the Kofinou-Larnaca motorway, from Monday 06/10/2025 until Thursday 09/10/2025, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, pruning and cleaning of the rainwater network will be carried out. During the works, the shoulder and part of the traffic lane will be closed locally and traffic will be diverted to the remaining section of the road. On the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to Kofinou, from 09/10/2025 until 16/10/2025, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, the Forestry Department will carry out watering works on the central island. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be closed in sections, for a length of approximately 1500m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway On the section of the motorway from the junction with Athalassa Avenue in Nicosia, up to the junction with the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway in both directions, from Monday 08/09/2025 until Thursday 30/10/2025, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 21:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, horizontal marking works will be carried out periodically. The works will be carried out in sections with one lane closed at a time. On the slopes of all highways in the Larnaca District, as well as the “Kalo Chorio” and “Rizoelia” roundabouts, during the period 01/09/2025 – 31/10/2025, except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30-14:30, work will be carried out by the Department of Forestry, pruning and watering plants. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected. During the period 22/09/2025 – 17/10/2025, daily, except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, on sections of the Larnaca-Nicosia, Larnaca-Agia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the Larnaca District, maintenance work will be carried out on safety barriers. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, in the direction of Larnaca, from the Athienou exit to the Rizoelia roundabout, from Monday 06/10/2025 to Wednesday 08/10/2025, from 20:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, periodic road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works in the above section, both lanes in the direction of Larnaca will be closed in sections, for a distance of approximately 3 km. and traffic will be diverted to the opposite traffic flow, which will operate in two-way traffic with the use of appropriate signage. The exit to Athienou will remain closed and traffic will be diverted from the previous exit to Lympia using appropriate signage. On the Nicosia – Larnaca motorway, from the junction with the Nicosia-Limassol motorway to the Lympia junction, from Monday 06/10/2025 until Tuesday 14/10/2025, except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, watering works will be carried out on the plants of the central islands by the Department of Forestry. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be closed in sections, for a length of approximately 1500m each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nisou, as well as on the motorway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, from 06/10/2025 to 14/10/2025, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, the Department of Forestry will carry out watering works on the central island. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be closed in sections, for a length of approximately 1500m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. Limassol-Nicosia Motorway On the section of the motorway from the junction with Athalassa Avenue in Nicosia, up to the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca Motorway in both directions, from Monday 08/09/2025 until Thursday 30/10/2025, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 21:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, horizontal marking works will be carried out periodically. The works will be carried out in sections with one lane closed at a time. During the period 22/09/2025 – 10/12/2025, works will be carried out to improve the entrance lane to the motorway, from Parekklisia to Limassol. During the works, the shoulder of the motorway will be closed for a length of approximately 300 meters and traffic will proceed normally, without the cutting off of traffic lanes. On the road connecting the Nicosia-Limassol motorway with the Kofinou-Larnaca motorway, from Monday 06/10/2025 until Thursday 09/10/2025, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, pruning and cleaning of the rainwater network will be carried out. During the works, the shoulder and part of the traffic lane will be closed locally and traffic will be diverted to the remaining section of the road. Nicosia Perimeter Motorway Today, Monday between the hours of 17:00 – 19:00, the section of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway at grade crossing towards the Tseri Industrial Area will be closed to traffic police due to a planned event. During the event, traffic to and from the Tseri Industrial Area will be diverted via the adjacent section of the roundabout towards the Alepianos – Tseri road. Limassol-Paphos Motorway On the section of the Paphos-Limassol motorway, from the Kolossi exit to the New Limassol Hospital exit, in the direction of Limassol, from Monday 06/10/2025 until Thursday 09/10/2025, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening and 05:30 in the morning of the next day, reflective paint application works will be carried out for the maintenance of the roadway lines. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections at any time for a length of approximately 300 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Nicosia District In Nicosia, on Digeni Akrita Avenue, between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Kallipoleos Avenue, from 30/06/2025 to 24/11/2025, repair, maintenance and reinforcement works of the existing culvert will be carried out. During the works, a section of one lane of Digeni Akrita Avenue towards Pallouriotissa/Kaimakli will be closed sequentially for approximately 50m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In addition, both lanes of traffic in this direction will be closed during the days when concreting works are carried out and traffic will be diverted via alternative routes. Separate announcements will be issued for these cases to better inform the public. On Digeni Akrita Avenue, the underground works between the intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Olympia Street have been completed 2 weeks earlier than planned. Therefore, from 06:00 on Monday, October 6, 2025 until 06:00 on Friday, November 14, 2025, the next phase of repair, maintenance and reinforcement of the existing culvert will be carried out on Digeni Akrita Avenue, between Olympia and Kleomenos Streets. During the works, the lanes of Digeni Akrita Avenue from Nicosia to Palouriotissa will be closed to traffic, between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Kleomenous Street. The right-hand direction towards Nikodimou Mylona Street will remain open. Drivers from Nicosia to Palouriotissa are urged to use Kritis, Kypranoros, Androkleous streets and then Stasandrou/Pindarou streets and Stasinou Avenue for their journeys. To move to Kallipoleos Street, drivers are urged to use Nikodimou Mylona Street. To return to Digeni Akrita, drivers are urged to use Nikodimos Mylonas, Damaskinou, Olympias, Eressos, Kallipoleos, Ifigenias, Dervenia, Efthimios Hadjipetros and Georgios Grivas Digeni streets. Traffic from Palouriotissa to Makariou Avenue will not be affected by the works. In Lakatamia, Archbishop Makariou III Avenue, on Monday 06/10/2025 and Tuesday 07/10/2025, from 21:30 at night until 05:30 the next morning, repair work will be carried out on the existing road surface. During the works, a section of Makariou III Avenue will be closed, from the height of the Post Office to its photo-controlled intersection with Agiou Georgiou and Melinas Mercouri streets. Drivers heading towards Strovolos/Lakatamia are urged to use Pefkou Street for their travel. Drivers heading towards Deftera, Lakatamia and Anthoupoli are urged to use Agiou Georgiou Street via Irakleous and Alamanas streets for their travel. In Lakatamia and Strovolos, within the framework of the works being carried out on Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, Tseriou, and Strovolou avenues, from Wednesday 07/05/2025 and for a period of approximately 5 months, the intersection of Georgiou Anagnostopoulou Street with Tseriou Avenue will be closed. During this period, traffic to and from Tseriou Avenue will be conducted via Georgiou Iona Street, where a photo-controlled intersection will operate to regulate traffic. In Lakatamia and Strovolos, also in the context of the works being carried out on Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Tseriou Avenues, from Tuesday 27/05/2025 and for a period of approximately 6 months, the photo-controlled intersection of Tseriou Avenue with Theofilou Georgiadis Street is being abolished and part of Theofilou Georgiadis Street will be temporarily closed to traffic, up to its intersection with Ergatikattas Street. All movements from Theofilou Georgiadis Street to and from Tseriou Avenue will be conducted via the temporary photo-controlled intersection with Vasilissis Amalias Street. In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, which are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets. Within the framework of the “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia” Project, during the period 24/04/2025-12/12/2025, the following traffic regulations will be in place: Kalavryton Street at its junction with Famagusta will be closed. Drivers are asked to use Faliro Street to get to Sopaz roundabout. Drivers are asked to use Larnaca Avenue to get to Terpsichoris respectively. Paphos Road will also be closed to traffic. Drivers using this road to travel to the area are asked to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street which is parallel to Paphos Road and was specifically constructed for this purpose. Residents of the Paphos Road area who want to travel to Larnaca Avenue are asked to use Kantaras Street while those who want to travel to the Sopaz roundabout are asked to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street for this purpose. Limassol District Asphalt pavement maintenance works will be carried out on the Saitta-Karvounas road, in Amiantos, from Tuesday 07/10/2025 to Friday 10/10/2025 from 7:00 to 16:00. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed at any time, approximately 100 m in length, and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage. Larnaca District On the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca-Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, traffic, from the height of the LEBAY Hotel to the Radisson Beach Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for six months, will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini, while part of it, near the BORONIA Hotel, will be closed. In addition, the road connecting Oroklini with the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, at the height of the Oroklini Fire Station and the HENIPA Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for two months, will be closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic will be diverted via Bella-Pais, Olympos and Athinon Streets in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to be careful.
