Women citizens of the Republic born in the year 2003 and male citizens of the Republic born in the year 1971, and residing in the territorial areas of the Republic, were called for registration and enlistment for two years in the Civil Defence Force, following a decision of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the Civil Defence (General) Regulations of 1997 and a relevant notification by the Minister of Interior.
An announcement by the Civil Defence Force states that the registration and classification of the liable persons will take place at the offices of the Regional Directorates of Civil Defence (PEDPA) by Province, at the local Civil Defence Stations / Civil Defence Substations or at the Offices of the Community Councils, depending on their place of residence.
For the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos, for female citizens it starts on Monday, October 20, 2025, until Friday, October 24, 2025, and for male citizens on Monday, November 17, 2025, until Friday, November 21, 2025. For Limassol District, registration and enlistment for female citizens begins on Monday, November 3, 2025, until Friday, November 7, 2025, and for male citizens from Monday, November 24, 2025, until November 28, 2025.
Summoned persons upon arrival should bring with them their Political Identity Card.
It is also clarified that the members of the Council of Ministers, the members of the House of Representatives, the Judges, the members of the Public Service Commission, the members of the Educational Service Committee, the General Directors in the Council of Ministers, the Director General of the House of Representatives, the Directors or Heads of government departments or other state services are exempt from the obligation to serve in the Force. the Directors of Public Law Organizations and the members of the Central Council and the Provincial Councils of Civil Defence, the clergy, those who serve on a permanent basis in the Civil Defence Force, the Cyprus Army, the National Guard, the Police, the Fire Service or in prisons.
Also excluded are those who perform their service in the National Guard, those who have served their service in the National Guard and belong to classes of the National Guard that have not been discharged from its reserve and those who, due to special qualifications, are in any way integrated into the reserve or other units of the National Guard, except for persons, to whom special reference is made to the National Guard legislation or who, by virtue of the National Guard legislation, have been granted an exemption or suspension from the obligation to serve in the National Guard and persons serving in a service that has been declared "Essential Service" in accordance with the provisions of Article 6 of the Law, and which are designated for the implementation of the Civil Defence Plan of that Service, which have been assigned responsibilities and obligations, in accordance with the Regulations, to deal with the effects of hostile actions.
