Important are the developments recorded in the investigation of the murder of Stavros Demosthenous, who was shot in front of his son last Friday, while he was in his luxury vehicle in the passenger seat.
According to reliable information from Filenews, the investigators of the Limassol Police Department secured court orders to remove the telecommunications data of the suspects detained in the case, as well as access to the content of private communications. In addition to the suspects, the investigators will also examine the victim's mobile phone, in order to reach safe conclusions as to the motives of the murder and more.
It is worth noting that the removal of telecommunications data is expected to result in a large volume of investigative material, which will be studied with special care. At the same time, through telecommunications data, the role that the suspects allegedly played in the case is expected to be clarified.
According to our information, the 30-year-old convict, in his testimony to the investigators, did not enlighten the case. As we are in a position to know, he denies any involvement, as well as what the 30-year-old suspect H.S. accuses him of for his role regarding the motorcycle. The convict claims that the latter is lying.
In another development, the Ministry of Health filed a complaint with the Police for the leak of photos of Demosthenes' body, requesting the opening of a criminal investigation into the possibility of committing criminal offenses. It should be noted that the photos have been circulating for days, while now it seems that even ordinary citizens possess them, which causes great concern to the authorities.
It is recalled that the arrests so far have reached five, with four of them related to the purchase of the motorcycle used to escape the executors.

The proceedings in the "court" in occupied Trikomo against the two Greek Cypriots, who face "charges" for violating the "law on the protection of personal data" and privacy, have been postponed to October 27. Today's proceedings centered on a legal dispute over whether an envelope allegedly found in their vehicle could be filed as evidence.
At today's hearing, the "prosecutor" presented a "police officer" as a witness, in order to submit to the "court" a blue envelope that was allegedly found in the car of the two defendants and submit it as evidence.
The lawyers of the Greek Cypriots filed an objection, initially asking to examine the content of the file. After a short interruption, the lawyers returned with a series of objections, arguing that the way in which the file was obtained may be "illegal" and violate privacy, the file seems to have been altered, as it contains documents that did not originally belong to him (photocopies, printouts of emails), while in other places there are underlinings and notes that were not made by the "accused", as well as that the "police officer" who was called to testify was not the investigator of the case, but simply the person in charge of safekeeping the "evidence" and therefore did not know its content and could not testify about it.
The "judge", after a new adjournment to examine the objections, decided to accept the argument of the defense, ruling that the file cannot be accepted as presumption, as the witness who presented it did not have the authority to do so.
Immediately afterwards, the "prosecutor" requested that the file be accepted, not as a presumption, but as an identification document (exhibition).According to the legal interpretation, this allows him to keep the file in the "case file" so that he can ask questions to future witnesses based on its content, albeit with less probative value. Despite the new objection of the defense, the "judge" accepted this request.
In the end, the "prosecutor" stated that he had no other witnesses to present today, and the "trial" was set to resume on October 27, at 10:30 a.m.
