The five Syrians, who are accused of the case of attempted murder against a security guard of a vehicle rental company and the arson of 4 cars, committed on August 14 on the coastal road of Pyla, appeared before the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca. The accused are a 44-year-old convict in the Central Prison, who is alleged to be the person who gave orders for the criminal act, a 17-year-old who is accused of shooting at the security guard, a 23-year-old who is believed to have set fire to the company's vehicles, a 17-year-old who allegedly drove the green vehicle used and a 27-year-old man for whom there are testimonies that he handed it over to the perpetrators.

During today's proceedings, charges were brought, among other things, for conspiracy to commit a felony, attempted murder and arson against the 27-year-old, who replied that he did not plead guilty. The remaining 4 asked for time to answer whether or not they pleaded guilty and the case was set for November 13. All remain in custody except for one 17-year-old, who faces charges only of conspiracy and theft. The court ordered that he remain, on parole, free.

It is recalled that the case is related to organized crime and followed a series of serious criminal actions in July and August. It is related to the leak of a video from the closed circuit of the Larnaca Court, one of which depicted the transfer of the convict to the detention center. For this case, which is being investigated by the Larnaca Police Department, the suspects are a 29-year-old private guard in court, as well as a 29-year-old man who was initially arrested for the Pyla case, however in the process he was released without being charged.
