Aiming to enter the Guinness Book of Records by breaking the world record for continuous swimming, Greek Paralympic champion Charalambos Taiganidis will dive into the famous “Bania” of Paphos today, Friday at 6:00am.

According to Sigma correspondent Marios Ignatiou, with the support of the Cyprus Frogmen Reserve Association, Charalambos Taiganidis will attempt to cover 170 kilometers, from Paphos to Ayia Napa, in a superhuman effort that combines faith, endurance and humanity.

This is a great effort and if all goes well, Taiganidis will finish on Sunday at noon at the Ayia Napa Marina.

Throughout the athlete's effort, both land and sea support teams will accompany them to ensure the athlete is safe and can rest at short intervals.
