For 65 years, Mr. Leonidas Leonidou has been keeping alive a tradition that is slowly disappearing: the menallagia. This is an old method of weather forecasting, which is based exclusively on the observation of the sky and natural phenomena in early August, in order to derive forecasts for the entire year. A practice that was valuable for older generations, when technology had not yet offered the tools of modern meteorology.
Leonidou was hosted by Protoselido, where he spoke in detail about his forecasts. In general, he said that the observations I have made this year showed me that we will have a very good winter, to forget about last year and the year before. The small dams will be filled 100%. He also expressed his concern about the very high temperature we have had in recent years, while he expressed fears that we may reach 50 degrees Celsius in the future. In particular, he predicts that we will have local rains on September 7-8 and 14-20. The first rains are expected to be on October 14. He noted that "the waters in September, October and December will be abundant and the mountains will be filled with mushrooms". The first snow, according to Leonidas Leonidou, will be from January 15 to 20. For January, he noted that "we will have amazing rains, we will be drowned by rain and snow. We will have very heavy snowfalls. I do not have machinery, I am not a prophet but we will have a meter of snow". The detailed forecasts:
