Anthoula Simadiakou is exhibiting in Paphos, the city she grew up in, with the painting exhibition “Wanderer – A Sojourn in Paphos”, at the Hani Ibrahim Gallery. The opening will take place on 26 September 2025, at 19:30, by the painter Soula Lipsou-Yagkou. The exhibition will run from 26 to 28 September 2025, with opening hours 10:00–14:00 and 17:00–21:00.
With a unique creative approach, the well-travelled painter, impressed by different cultures and unexpected human encounters, expresses in her works her deep dedication to capturing the human soul. The exhibition is a journey rich in images, emotions and truths. Every smile, glance and wrinkle she paints was recorded in the passes of Nepal and the routes of Africa, tours that carved into her infinite versions of colours and expressions. In her works, full of intensity and vibrancy, the painter combines the use of different materials and mixed techniques such as acrylic, charcoal, inks, gouache, collage and monotypes. She focuses on the dynamic use of colours, aiming to convey vibrancy and explosive expression, sometimes with an abstract and sometimes with a concrete approach.
Anthoula states: “My goal is not to depict specific faces or figures but to invite the viewer to embrace the beauty of diversity and feel the truths of the human soul.” Anthoula conveys her emotional impressions in her works and presents the beauty and complexity of the human spirit, in an experience that touches the heart, awakens the senses and reveals the colour of her soul.
