The number of drivers over 70 years old is increasing year by year. According to the data provided by the Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeadis, in the year 2019 they were 60.443, in 2020 they amounted to 63.509, in 2021 they reached 66.992, in the year 2022 the drivers amounted to 70.343 and in the year 2023 they blocked 73.305.

At the same time, there is a phenomenon of a decrease in the number of drivers under 70 years of age.

The relevant data were given by the Minister of Transport following a question by MP Alexandra Attalidou.

Specifically, based on the data, in the year 2019 they were 627.087, in the year 2020 they renewed their license 618.591, in the year 2021 their number decreased to 609.795, in 2022 they fell to 600.814, in 2023 they fell to 593.943 to end up last year at 582.287.

This means that about one in seven drivers is over 70 years old.
